"Forgive them Lord because they do not know what they are doing"
"May God help you, protect you and give you strength." With the previous phrase we should address our enemies from our hearts.
Not forgiving produces Anger, Resentment, Rage, Hatred. These negative emotions will unbalance your Sacral chakra and sicken your kidneys, your bladder, your ovaries, your prostate, your circulatory system, your heart, your Emotional Body and therefore your life and your Soul.
The "evil" that other people have caused us is always pain, heartbreak or/and frustration associated with trauma. The root of trauma, pain and frustration is fear. Fear is the opposite of Love. Fear is the "channel" through which negative energies "circulate" to harm ourselves and others.
Negative spiritual beings want us not to forgive, not to use that Divine Gift loaded with love, to use us as energetic "channels" (fear) to direct hatred, rage, resentment, jealousy, envy around us and cause harm everywhere.
When we direct negative feelings, thoughts, emotions towards other people, we connect to them through our Major Chakra System, and like a "bomerang" they will return those negative energies (sent) back to us. In addition, all the spiritual, sentimental, psychic, emotional and even physical/etheric illnesses that our enemies have will also reach us. We are all One. Therefore, when we harm others, we also harm ourselves. The better your enemy is, the better you will be: "Forgive them Lord because they do not know what they do", "Love your enemy".
On the other hand, every time we remember the "evil" that has been done to us and that we must forgive, we experience that trauma, pain or/and frustration once again, with the corresponding consequences: different types of psychic, emotional symptoms, etc.
We also connect energetically to our enemies by remembering the damage done, with the corresponding consequences as well. For example: A week-long "preparation" of anger could lead to a serious illness such as cancer.
A fictitious/virtual/distance/psychic anger or whatever you want to call it causes the same damage as a present body anger.

| Love is just as contagious as Anger, and it also does Good |
..."and forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors." Debts, sins: Lust, Anger, Greed, Sloth, Envy, Pride, Gluttony.
"Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us"
With Sloth and Gluttony it is very difficult to sin against others (that could be) but with Anger, Envy, Greed, Pride and Lust, you can sin easily.
Forgiveness is a Gift from God, a Gift of Infinite Love for our well-being and happiness. We as beings created in the image and likeness of God should forgive without regard.
All negative feelings, emotions and thoughts harden our internal organs, producing first illness and then death: "Your heart is hardened, calcified."
With Forgiveness (Divine Gift) we will become strong, we will place ourselves at a level above our enemies (the level of Love) and their sins and illnesses (negative energies) will not affect us.
Nor will we act as channels, as servants, as blind slaves, for negative spiritual beings so that through us they destroy human beings and planet Earth.
With forgiveness we will live (physically) Eternally.
Always remember that Jesus the Christ sacrificed his life for the Forgiveness of our sins.
